The Brend Hotels group have done a great job with the Imperial Hotel in Barnstaple. It was run down and ready for demolition before being acquired by Brend. Now it is an excellent four-star hotel in the heart of this interesting town. Many of the bedrooms are newly upgraded, and the public rooms are really welcoming and luxurious. The restaurant serves delicious food in very ample portions. Good deals are available, particularly out of season. Guests at the Imperial can take advantage of the excellent leisure facilities at a nearby sister hotel.
